With over 150 years of use, Singer Sewing Machines is a great tool to use to help combine fabrics into one piece for your prototypes.
What You Need To Know:
- A consultant will be on-site during your appointment but we recommend watching this video to gain some knowledge of the sewing machine model and how to sew beforehand.
- We have loose fabric you can use but if you would like a certain color or texture we would recommend bringing your own.

Absolutely, we recommend watching this video before your appointment to understand how the machine works and there will be someone at the commons desk who can help you during your appointment.
Do I need to bring my own fabric?
You can if you want specific materials or colors but we have a scrap bin of fabrics that you can take from.
Where do I have to go to use the sewing machine?
Please go to makercommons.psu.edu to schedule an appointment and a consultant should be able to get back to you by email with a date and time of when we can book you for an appointment.
