Microsoft: Adaptive Computing for All

Engadget gets a first look at Microsoft’s line of adaptive computing accessories, including a mouse, button and hub. These three devices allow for users with differing physical and neurological abilities to customize their digital workflows by programming simple or complex actions into easy interactions with hardware. In addition, 3D printable covers will further tailor the use experience by allowing for very specific designs that meet people where they are with their needs.

Description

Imagine not being able to access your computer using the mouse or keyboard? What about not being able to play your favorite online game? This happens everyday for individuals with limited mobility. As technology evolves, so is the need to change the way access is offered for individuals with diverse needs. 

For this assignment, reflect on the designs that Microsoft developed for their new line of adaptive computing accessories. From pen grips to adaptive buttons, each is designed to assist individuals with technology access. Think of the variety of technologies that you use everyday. What could be designed to assist with access to using these technologies?
